Very Large Vintage German Bock Beer Stein/Pewter LidGoat & Gnomes #1189ST70
VERY LARGE 3-LITER GERMAN BOCK BEER STEIN. This is a nice old pottery stein from Germany. It has a transfer design of a goat (the symbol for bock beer) breaking out of a wood barrel with a gnome grabbing its horn. There are gnomes on either side of the barrel.
It is really beautiful artwork. It has pastel blue background on cream colored pottery.
The stein has a hinged pewter lid with a face on the thumb rest. There is a banner which reads. Was nutzet alles Reden u.
Gezanke der Becker bleibt das edelste Getränke. Which roughly translates to English to say. "What use is ass talking - the bickering of the bocker remains the noblest thought". It is a large stein measuring 16-1/2" tall and it measures 6" diameter at the base.
