Old Wooden German Beer Stein, Coburg, Birch Wood With Tar

  

For sale is an old German beer stein. I do not know much about steins so please examine all photos. The wood appears to be birch.

The stein is marked 5/10 which leads me to believe that 10 of these were made. The front has a hand painted scene and reads Struss aus Coburg. This stein shows some slight warping of the wood from time, with a few open gaps, however this steins feels very solid and sturdy.

The lid opens smoothly and will sit open; it is fitted together by a small copper piece. This stein is 7.5 inches tall and 5 inches wide across lid.
