Steins have come from Mettlach, Germany. This is a lovely vintage, limited edition 8 stein produced by Heinrich Villeroy & Boch in 1978, #1526. It depicts the Snow Maiden from popular Russian fairy tales as illustrated by the talented Russian artist, Boris Zvorykin. Three scenes include: Snegurochka at the Court of Tsar Berendei, Snegurochka. Snegurochka and Lel the Shepherd boy. Borders top and bottom are hand-painted. Im of gold applied above the base. Reverse of the inset shows.

Ottom is imprinted with the Mettlach Towermark, portraying 1,000 year old abbey which still stands on the banks of the Saar River. The stein is in excellent vintage condition with no cracks, chips, or crazing. A terrific addition to your collection. Please pay within 5 days.
