Large Antique German Pewter Beer Stein/Pitcher Kanne Birnkrug dated 1875
Large Antique Pewter German Beer Stein/Pitcher Kanne Birnkrug Dated 1875. Description: Large antique German pewter beer stein/pitcher from about the 1870s. Classical bulbous shape - the Germans call it "Kanne" and "Birnkrug" for the pear-like form. "S"-shaped ribbon handle, flat lid with decorative feather-type thumlift. The lid is engraved with the original owner's name H. Please note - this is the real date, the stein was made that year or somewhat earlier. Very good condition - there is no tears or any damage at all, and no repairs, just some minor dings and scrathches unavoidable in the soft metal like pewter. It is quite large and impressive - 13.5 tall to the top of the thumblift, 3L capacity. Please note - this is a real beer pouring vessel from the 1870s, not a copy or fake.
