There is a presentation inscription on the side made in a very fine script saying: U/l Willy Graf Sprudel von Roisdorf z. 1906 The stein was a gift for someone called Willy Count Sprudel of Rosidorf from his friends at the Prince Guard. The Prinzen-Garde is one of the nine traditional corps in the Cologne Carnival and accompanies the Prince Carnival in the Rose Monday procession. It was founded exactly in the year of 1906 so the stein was most likely a gift to commemorate this memorable event. The stein is large and impressive - it stands 11 tall to the top of the thumblift and the capacity is approximately 2L.
It is in good condition - the silverplate is largely worn , but there is no damage and it displays beautifully - a nice very impressive piece. Auctiva offers Free Image Hosting and Editing.
