Huge Vintage German Saltglazed Stoneware Beer Stein withViking Hunter Theme ST55
HUGE SALTGLAZED STONEWARE GERMAN BEER STEIN. This is a nice old stoneware stein from Germany with Cobalt blue glaze details. It has a deep relief designs with a Viking and Hound. There are words in German. There are also German words within shields which roughly translates to English to say.
"German Words & Song sound good- Hunting is a German lust, his heart beats warmly in his chest". It is decorated with oak leaves and hunter's axes and spears.
It is incised GERMANY #800 with a cross in the bottom. I believe it is about 4 Liters.It is a large stein measuring 21-1/2 tall. This has been in our personal collection for many years.
