Regimental German Pewter Lid Stein 3rd Field Artillery Name listed on stein is "Gefreiter" Franz Bauer Canoniers Porcelain Cannon 1899 1901 Antique Lithopane Bottom. This is an interesting find for the collector of Pre WWI German militaria - a pewter lid stein from the 3rd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Battery, issued to Kanonier Friedrich Simon. Gefreiter Franz Bauer is listed with his service members near the handle.

His name is the first listed. It is dated 1899 - 1901, and is made of porcelain with a pewter lid that features a canon and a lion behind a shield. The inside bottom of the stein is what they call lithopone, meaning if you hold it up to light, you see the image, as I have shown in the photos. Its 11 inches tall, about 5 inches wide, and the hinged lid works fine. This is a must own for all collectors as these are highly collectible and rather rare.
