Antique hand painted Merkelbach & Wick German pottery pewter lidded beer stein

  
Up for sale is a wonderful antique handmade. This 1/2 liter stein is sculpted with thick pottery walls and painted by hand with a very detailed figural scene done in a realism style. It has an ornate pewter lid that is mounted to the stein handle with a hinged thumb-piece.

It's marked underneath and in good antique condition. The stein measures 6 1/2 inches tall by 5 1/2 inches back to front. There was a repair on a chip on the bottom as shown in last photo.
