German Porcelain Character Beer Stein Otto v. Bismark Head by Schierholz #15 c.

The stein is made of porcelain in form of a sculptural portrait of Otto von Bismark (1815 - 1898) - the most famous German political figure, the Iron Chancelor, the man behind many Prussian war voctories and the Unification of Germany. The Chanselor is portrayed in military uniform wearing the distinctive German spiked helmet - the "Pickelhaube". Please note - there are several modern copies of this stein, mostly made in China. The copies are very inferior to the original - and this is the opriginal Schierholz piece. It was also done in full color version - this one is much more expensive.

Also, the full color version was copied by Schirholz factory in former DDR - the East Germany - in 1980s. However, they did not copy this beige version. Excellent condition, 7.5 tall, 0.5L capacity.
