Made of the very traditional saltglazed cobalt-blue stoneware with pewter mounts. The body of the stein was manufactured by Re i nhold Hanke around 1880 - 1890s. Hanke used this body with different heads - monks and nuns.
However, the laughing face, and the hat and the collar suggests this is not a monk - it's a jester. I have not seen this head on #67 body before (as a matter of fact on any body). This is quite rare combination. Please note - the thumblift is not removed, the stein was made without it. There is a minor flake on inlay where the tang connects. There are some manufacturing impurities but no actual damage see pic. 5 It is 7 tall, 0,5L capacity. Condition: Excellent w/minor flake on inlay. Auctiva offers Free Image Hosting and Editing. This item is in the category "Collectibles\Breweriana, Beer\Drinkware, Steins\Lidded Steins\Germany".
