Very nice mid 19th century Bohemian/German cut and paneled pewter lidded beer stein with hand painted porcelain plaque on lid. Very fine quality with top notch cutting and beveling.
There is an air bubble that is exposed from the making and apparently a chip just under/along the rim as shown...... Please see photographs as it is very close to the rim but can still be drank from, but should be smoothed professionally if used just to be safe. Could also be colored to be made practically invisible. About 5 1/4" tall and about 3 5/8" diameter. Cut in a gothic style with arched panels that are separated by ovals in a center band, c1850 or so.
Base is cut with rayed ovals and is marked in gilt with letters/numbers as photographed. This item is in the category "Collectibles\Breweriana, Beer\Drinkware, Steins\Lidded Steins\Germany".
