We have a large pottery stein that was made in the early 1900s. The stein appears to be a 2 1/2 L and is 16 3/4 tall. The base markings 1024 are from Matthias Girmscheid from Höhr Grenzhausen Germany near Koblenz.
The scene is of a two drunken cavaliers stumbling past large barrel where on the top are sitting monkeys representing drunkenness. The lid is made from pewter. The stein has no chips or cracks. I think that this is a very unusual stein and makes a wonderful addition to any advanced collectors collection. Check out our other items for sale.
