Merkelbach Beer Stein #3025 C. The artists who worked for R.Mueller and other famous designers and art professors of Art Nouveau/Jugendstil era. The stein is designed by Charlotte Krause - she was one of a very few women who worked as Jugendstil designer at this period. The stein is made of stoneware and glazed with "koelnisch braun" glaze - a very special glaze technique used by R. Designed in early 1900s it was manufactured in late 1910s. The lid is pewter - the signature Merkelbach lid used exclusively on his brown glaze Jugendstil steins. The stein is marked with R. Merkelbach Grenzhausen mark used in from 1916 till 1936 and 3025 model number.
