This is a beautiful early 1900 German occupational lidded beer stein with a detailed lithophane in the bottom. The stein was made for Fritz Ruopp, a wheelwright or wagon maker.
The best I can translate the dedication it says Live High Nobel Wagoner. The l ithophane in the bottom is phenomenal as shown in photo 9. The lid is pewter and nicely decorated.
I think the maker's name is on the bottom of the handle (Photo 5). There are no chips, cracks or breaks. The paint is in excellent condition.
The only flaw I see is some light scuffing on the bottom from shelf wear. The stein is 10-3/4" to the top of the lid, the base has a diameter of 4-1/8" and the diameter at the mouth is 3-1/4. Please examine all photos as they are an important part of the description of item.
