This stein stands 9 1/2 tall and is most likely 1L in size (not marked). This stein is done in blue saltglaze and incised in the décor. Center features a flower, with dots around the upper and lower part of the stein. The lid has an incised floral design in the center of the lid. The hinge is a large closed type hinge, typical for that period (c1780-c1790).
The stein is in great shape for it's age, no chips, cracks or repairs to the stein body. The pewter lid has a professional repair to the tang area and has some slight wavy areas but not very noticeable (see pictures of inside lid and outside lid). It's a very nice stein, one that could be the centerpiece of your collection. This is a great antique German.
