Description: This beautiful German beer stein from Art Nouveau period designed in the distinctive Jugendstil (German Art Nouveau) style. The main element of the design is the very traditional beer-related saying at the top created in very specific Jugendstil manner. Trink in Ruh immer zu. Those were the times of artistic experiments with ordinary consumer product - the first designer objects created by well-known artists for such beer stein manufacturers as R. Merkelbach, Marzi and Remy, Duemler and Breiden who emplyed such artists as Richard Riemerschmid, Paul Wynand, Albin Mueller, etc. The stein bears the mark that shows a large "T" crossed with "S". This mark actually stands for "Terra Sigillata". The model number 1181 indicate that the stein was made in 1916. The lid is engraved with the original owner's name - S. The stein is in excellent condition, there is no chips, cracks or repairs. The stein is 5 tall, 0.5L capacity. Please note - the Terra Sigillata stoneware is quite rare and highly collectible.
