Antique German Military Regimental Beer Stein Pionier Battl. Description: Original regimental (Reservisten) stein c. Belonged to Reservist Hinze of 4. Company of Nassau Pionier (Engineer) Batallion No. 21 stationed in Mainz in 1910 - 1912.
Made of hard porcelain with lithopane in the bottom showing a tavern scene. Nice very interesting hand-colored over transfer outline scenes of the work of an Engineer unit - building pontoons and bridges. Pewter figural lid with a soldier standing with a shovel on his back. The shovel instead of a rifle indicate the Pionier (Engineer) batallion, as well as the anchor crossed with a shovel and a pick for the thumblift.
Please note - the Piopier unit Regimental steins a quite rare, they are well more rare than infantry, cavalry ot artillery regimentals. There is also a lithophane in the bottom showing a soldier with a maid. Condition - the stein is in excellent condition with the ropster slightly faded but still readable. It is large and impressive, standing 12.5 tall, 0.5L capacity. Please note - this is original authentic regimental stein from the period. I guarantee my description and dating.
