This is a typical "occupational" beer stein of the early 1800s, dedicated to the farmer's occupation. This type of glass beer steins was very common in the 1800 - 1820. The steins of this kind came mostly from Bohemia. The lid is of a steep type with the cone-shaped thumblift sitting on the lid and five-ring closed type hinge - also typical for this period.
The lid is engraved with initials M. The stein has a line on the back, where the bottom of the handle connects. It is quite stable and shows a wonderful appearance. The stein is 9 tall to the top of the thumblift, 0.5L capacity. Condition: Line on back, otherwise excellent.
