Although the stein potter is unmarked, one has some clues as to the potter of fine stoneware. The 0.5 capacity as stamped, the colors, high relief, stein mold number, and the style of the numbers in capacity and mold number all point to Dumler & Breiden. This potter was know for his white clay craftsmanship and high relief in steins. Two of the sayings in German are: "Knocking the pins down is Life" & "Next to a full beer". This is a very heavy stein with a large five ring hinge that is smooth & tight. The thumblift has an cool looking face on it. Stein is unusual in how it was drawn up with the hands making various widths as you go up and down. I collected many bowing steins over the years and this is one of my favorites. You Don't want to miss quality!
