The whole design is created in Art Nouveau style - not its German adaption of Jugendstil, but clearl y French or Belgium version. This is a rare thing - very few German steins were designed in a true Art Nouveau style. The front panel shows a beautiful young woman portrayed in distinctive Art Nouve au manner with flowers in her hair and swirling curls. The inscription on top (in Czech) reads: Na Wase Zdrawi! It's interesting to note that the inscription is in Czech. There are several variations of Mattias Grimscheid model number 756, that vary in color and inscriptions as well.
Apparently, this particular variation was created as a special order for the Czech market. A b eautifully designed beer drinking vessel! Manufactured by Matthias Girmsc hied - one of the most important beer stein manufacturers in Germany. Marked with model n umber 756. The stein is in excellent condition - there is some minimal age-related wear but no damage or repairs whatsoever.
The lid is pewter with an Art Nouveau style thumblift. It is in excellent condition as well and is sitting tight. The stein is large and impressive - it is 10.5 tall to the top of the finial, 0.5 L capacity.
